E-mails from Dennis and Lorie

[From Dennis] I thought I would send out this note from Loris. We do have that page that Dad (Melvin Barnaal) wrote about the history of the farm. He said that Isak Barnaal arrived in New Ulm and walked to the farm. We have had the immigrant trunk for about 30 years that says Isak Barnaal and New Ulm Minnesota on the front.-Dennis

[From Lorie] Hello I noticed in the E mail you mentioned when and where grandpa Barnaal came to the U.S. I thought he came in at New York but I'm not sure. I do remember hearing that he came to New Ulm by train and walked to Sacred Heart I don't know if you ever heard that? I looked at those old hand written obituaries that I have but the first page of grandpa's is missing or maybe we would know. I didn't realize grandma was 35 when my dad was born and I suppose 40 when your dad was born . I thought she was younger when she came over but it states she was 31 and was 34 when they married and that their was 16 years difference in age. I knew he was some older but didn't know how many years it was. I guess alot of those things I never thought much about but now find it interesting. Will talk to you later Lorie B.
